Welcome

Modbus Client is a perfect tool for testing and watching multiple Modbus devices simultaneously. The program supports a multiple document interface and you can open more than one Connection windows.

 

You are able to

Handle discrete data - see Connection window (discrete)

▪Read and write Coils ( 0xxxx addresses )

▪Read Discrete Inputs ( 1xxxx addresses )
 

Handle analog data - see Connection window (analog)
Numerical data can be displayed with 4 different endian formats and different scales.

▪Read Input Registers ( 3xxxx addresses )

▪Read and write Holding Registers ( 4xxxx addresses )
 

Network traffic observing

Data is collected in a scrollable editor.

Installation

Please download ModbusClient.exe and save the file at <c:\MBC> or <windows\users\public>\MBC or <windows\users\your name>\MBC . The directory should have write permissions.

Create a link on the desktop and pin it to your taskbar if you want. You can apply a Command line in the link too.

Licensing

If Modbus Client has no license it runs some minutes in demo mode. After a period of time it terminates all connections. You can restart afterward's.

Please read the EULA for the maximum period of testing and evaluation (30 days).

Purchase a license key

If you want to purchase a license key for your installation, please choose Menu > ? > About from the Main window and follow the instructions. After paying the license fee you get a perpetual license key for your installation path. Moving your license to another location can fail depending of your license type. Pricing for concurrent floating license(s) @ Dec 2025

A floating license can be used from more then one place. The number of licenses is the number of concurrent usages of more than one user.

Updating a license key

If you've bought a license key it is valid only for a particular major version. This means, that if a new version is released later and it's major version is greater than yours, you must buy an update to the recent version. Please contact mbc@ibbsw.de for an discounted offer.
